House hunting

So I'm looking for a house. It's not fun. It's almost as bad as dating, almost. There's been one that I really like, and they signed a contract as I saw it. For what I look at...

1) it disappears. Some stuff moves fast.

2) it's outside of my price range, and it won't work down.

3) it's too close. A country boy like me doesn't want to live on top of someone.

4) it's too far. If I live an hour away, I'll spend my whole life in the car and never see the place. Plus, I'd never get people there for a life group.

5) it's too small. Some houses are smaller than my one bedroom apartment, but to add more bedrooms, they basically remove the living room from the equation. Again, if I'm going to have a life group, I need a living room large enough to host one.

So there's a lot out there I don't want. Man I hate house hunting.
