NFL 10 week 1 Synopsis

If I would have told you that Manning was 40/57 for 433 yards, 3 TDs and 0 INTs, would you have predicted that the Colts won? I would have. Instead, the Colts were DOMINATED from begining to end. Where? At the line. On offense and defense, their linemen were shoved around all day. On offense, this led to the Texans RB Foster had clear field all day long. The Colts were just beat. Soundly. That's all there was to it. If it wasn't for Bullett's INT and a couple of TDs too late to matter, the score would reflect how badly the Colts did.

Oh, and I have to mention that they might have stood a better chance had a TD not been pulled back for a Jeff Saturday holding call. When was the last time you heard Jeff Saturday, known as the best Center in the NFL, getting a holding penatly. That should tell you how much the Colts were dominated. Congrats Texans.

Rest of the League:
Saints-Vikings. Gotta love that when everyone else was undefeated, Favre wasn't. You should retire, you Geezer.

Pats-Bengals. Who-dey? De Pats, unfortunately. Not the high expectations people had for the Bengals. It might help if your recievers would play instead of sitting around in the locker room tweeting. A tip to that Cincy fan, next time if you are going to hit Brady, HIT HIM HARDER. Chump.

Steelers-Falcons. Ok, well, Pit's defense did ok. Now you just need an offense. And no, one big play didn't count.

Titans-Raiders. The Raiders lost, CJ2K ran the ball. Anyone else shocked? Nope.

Chiefs-Chargers. Oh... poor baby Rivers. The crowd was too naisy and made him mad. He was pouting. Nice job.

Ravens-Jets. Ok, I can understand if you are at the end of the game trying to get out of bounds to save time, but GET THE FIRST DOWN FIRST!!!!!

Redskins-Cowboys. HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA. At least it gave locals something to think about other than their beloved V-Tech getting beat by JMU.

Now the one you really want to read about.
Bears-Lions. Detroit got robbed, by letter of the law. The ref did enforce the new rule as it is written. But it is terrible. The old rule was that you had to take the ball to the ground. This time, he dropped the ball while getting up. One commentator said "You have to hold onto the ball until a week from Tuesday." What's next, if you spike the football in the endzone it is incomplete?

  1. Haha... that line for the Redskins-Cowboys was priceless. The only thing that could have made the weekend better is if UVA could have made 2 less mistakes in the USC game so they could have knocked them off. At least they showed everyone that they have the talent to win more than 3 games this year, as was predicted. Oh, and the Giants recievers need to learn to hold on to the ball, not let it fly around in the air into defender's arms... but at least they got the W. Sorry I have to root against you this week, Josh. I would hate to see the Colts start 0-2, but I would love to see my Giants start 2-0 more.

  2. You are right about the Giants on that. I just can't help but think "You're paid how much to catch a ball?" I just wish we lived closer so that we could watch it together. We could at least do it over the phone, right?

  4. A minister free on a Sunday? Good one Mike. I leave the church at 1:00 and then lead a small group at 6.
