President Obama and the debate

So, I DVRed the debate, and have not finished watching it yet, but allow me to point a few things out.

The President said low gas prices are a sign of a bad economy.  No wonder he acts so much like Jimmy Carter!  Well, if my being able to afford gas and groceries are the sign of a bad economy, then bring it on!

The president said he's against gender discrimination.  Yet two of his appointed positions were sued for gender discrimination and sexual harassment, with the lawsuits saying that they "ran things like a sorority."  Women are paid 18% less by the Obama administration.  They have disproportionately lost jobs under Obama.  When asked about that, he equated contraception to women's jobs.  Apparently, he views women as wombs for hire.

The president wants to raise taxes to raise revenue, but historically, higher taxes=less revenue and more spending.  So if they raise taxes, they will spend more and take less in.  Why?  Because that means more people out of work, and therefore less overall revenue.  Maybe, instead of looking "forward," he should read a book and look at how things work in the real world.

The President also claimed he cut taxes 18 times.  That's true, if you include cutting taxes on special interest groups and temporary measures which have expired.  He also raised taxes on the middle class through ObamaCare.  He also claimed ObamaCare would lower premiums, but they have raised more than he said they would lower.

Obama also lied about the Arizona law, which the Supreme Court upheld.  They cannot pull someone over because they "look illegal."  If they pull someone over on another violation, they have to present papers.  SO DO I.  I have to present a driver's license.  Don't you?  If they can't produce papers, then an investigation can begin as to whether they were here legally. 

Obama also said that he called Libya terrorism.  The Moderator backed him.  Then after the debate, she admitted SHE WAS WRONG.  He said terrorism would not be tolerated, but never said Libya was terrorism.  Too bad to Obama-supporting moderator didn't fact check before putting in her two cents.  Admitting fault later does little to undo the damage.

Lastly, Obama kept saying "That's not true.  That's not true."  They say that if you repeat a lie often enough, loud enough, it will be accepted as truth.  He's trying to paint Romney as a liar, but as Romney said in the first debate, "As president, you're entitled to your own house and your own plane, not your own facts."  Obama's record doesn't match his rhetoric. 

Einstein once said "The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again, and expecting a different result."  So do you really think four more years will yield a different result?

Loss of Freedom

So from time to time, I write explaining that we are losing freedom in this country.  Constantly.  Steadily.  I got another one.

A pastor was holding a small group Bible study in his home.  No biggy.  This happens everyday.  In fact, I coordinate these meetings for my own church, and host one at my apartment.

However, this particular Bible Study took a twist, when more than a DOZEN police officers came and arrested the man for having a Bible Study in his home.

Where did this take place?  China?  Nope.  Pakistan?  Nah.  Iran?  Keep guessing.

Phoenix, Arizona.

This man was arrested for having a Bible Study right here in the USA. 

Whatever happened to freedom of religion?  Freedom of speech?  Right to assembly?  They're dead, that's what happened.

The local government claims it's a zoning violation, because he had friends over, which might have been too many in case of a fire.  Really?  Did they arrest everyone who had a Fourth of July barbecue too?  Nope.

And another thing, is a Bible study so big an offense to take more than a dozen officers to arrest ONE MAN?  One man whose leader was arrested similarly, and like the pastor, offered no resistance?  Why did it take more than a dozen officers for a zoning violation?

This man received two months in jail for having friends over to talk about the Bible.  This is INSANE.  If you can be arrested for holding a small Bible Study in your own home, and get arrested?  He was sentenced to 60 days in jail, 3 years probation, and more than $12,000 in fines. 

Your freedoms are going bye-bye.

Playing catch up and immigration

I haven't posted in a while. The reason why is because I threw my back out. Uh. Back pain is terrible. It is easy to immobilize you. It seems like it should be bearable, but...

I ended up calling for help and staying a few days under medical supervision. It was rough to be immobilized and dependant on others. That's the way it goes.

Ok, onto topics that matter. Some people, Republicans, want to repeal the 14th Amendment, specifically section 1.

Section 1. All persons born or naturalized in the United States, and subject to
the jurisdiction thereof, are citizens of the United States and of the State
wherein they reside. No State shall make or enforce any law which shall abridge
the privileges or immunities of citizens of the United States; nor shall any
State deprive any person of life, liberty, or property, without due process of
law; nor deny to any person within its jurisdiction the equal protection of the
laws.


They call this now the Anchor babies Amendment. In its original design, shortly after the Civil war, was to declare all slaves as citizens. Now, Mexicans jump the border to have babies in the US that are citizens.

Republicans, in an effort to win voters, are now anti-immigrant. They confuse the Arizona issue with anti-immigrant sentiment. This makes me sick. I hate it when people play politics, especially with people's lives.

My opinon? I'm all for anchor babies. Let the amendment stand. They are US citizens. Don't take that away. It would be wrong. Besides, in this country, we don't understand what it means to be desperately poor. You've never had to chose which of your children eats this week. You've never had to chose whether your family would die of dehydration, or diseases from the only available water.

If that is a serious problem, then still deport the parents, with baby in tow. When the baby then a legal adult, they as a United States citizen return free and clear. It seems simple. In the mean time, I don't want to reward illegal behavior, but I think there needs to be some understanding of desperation and not punish innocent children. Let's go after some of these dangerous illegals who are dealing drugs, starting gangs, and killing people.

Can't read?

Apparently Democrats can't read. They sure as heck don't. There were a lot of people who did not read the Heath Care Bill, nicknamed ObamaCare. Among those are those that voted for it, and the one that signed it into law.

Now, they are ripping Arizona for being racists for passing an immigration law. This law mirrors the Federal law. But now, they have admitted that they have not read it either. Now the Health Care Bill was 2000 pages, but Arizona's law is a whole ten pages long. Ten! That's just too long for the President to read before he starts slandering Arizona internationally.

Today, the president is meeting with the president of Mexico, and they are talking about immigration reform. Aparently, the President of Mexico does not like his people not being allowed to flee the brutal conditions down there. Why? Because most of those illegals are drug dealers and criminals and he wants to get rid of them. The decent, hard working people are legals.

Now, don't get me wrong. I'm all for immigration. I'd love to reopen Ellis Island. However, the illegal entry of Canadians and Mexicans while well-deserving immagrants are denied entry is insane. In Arizona, they have a problem with drug dealers killing locals. They also have a problem with kidnapping. Pheonix Arizona has become the kidnap capital of the United States, and in that city, you are the second most likely to be kidnapped of any city of the world. One democrat, who I will not name, said "What's the big deal? It's just the immigrants that get kidnapped." These are the same people that think Arizona is being just too darn mean by letting illegals in, but we should let the illegals kidnap the legals.

These are the same people, in order to save money, that said ObamaCare does not extend to legal immigrants, but illegals are covered. How does that make any sense? We should just start paying people to jump the border, and charge that money from legal immigrants. That's what it amounts to in practice. Rewarding crime by punishing law-abiding Americans (yes, I just called legal immigrants Americans). They call this social JUSTICE????!!!!!!!!!!!

One more fact about the President, he apologized this week to China for Arizona's law as a human rights violation. This to a country that WILL kill you for following virtually any religion, Buddhist, Hindu, Christian, or Muslim. Who can forget the video of the boy standing in front of a tank? This to a country that tells it's citizens that they can only have one child, and will kill any you have beyond that if necessary. Come on, seriously? He apologized to one of the biggest human rights violators, a nation where slavery is perfectly legal, for a state passing a law that says the same as the federal law, because the feds will not enforce it, and with their own law they can. This whole thing is stupid.
